Juwan Chambers
Founder, CEO
Hailing from Queens, NY, Juwan Chambers is an award-winning director, writer, producer, and actor striving to become Hollywood’s next big multi-hyphenate. Growing up, he dreamed of being a singer until he discovered a passion for filmmaking at age 9. With the help of YouTube and Google, he taught himself how to write screenplays and about the business. This led him to serve as the Student Director and Stage Manager for his high school’s musical for two consecutive years.
Wanting to hone his skills as a filmmaker, he pursued higher education and graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Cinema and a minor in Sociology in May 2018. That summer, he launched Switch Up Entertainment, producing and releasing a range of projects that have since garnered over 56,000 views on YouTube.
Later that year, his original TV script earned him a spot in MACRO's Episodic Lab quarterfinals. Shortly after, his short 1 IN 71 became a semi-finalist at the Trinity Film Fest and later earned him the Best Director Platinum Award at the Mindfield Albuquerque Film Festival.
Currently, Juwan is developing a digital series created by his friend Colin Carswell under Switch Up Entertainment, as well as a documentary under Chaconia Pictures with Colin, Jaselle Martino (HAIR TALES on Hulu), and Ashley George (GROWING UP on Disney+). Desiring to leave a lasting impact, Juwan is committed to expanding storytelling possibilities for underrepresented communities through art that is universally engaging, impactful, and relevant.
As CEO, he is responsible for setting the company’s vision, making key decisions, and overseeing all departments and productions.
